Teen Mentors Wanted!

NGF seeks to empower new leaders of tomorrow through literacy achievement, teen leadership, and enrichment and educational programs that will make a positive impact on their lives.

NGF Teens Program
This program provides high school and college students an opportunity to give back to the community by volunteering as tutors and mentors to children in the SmarterMe® programs.  It also gives them access to an enrichment program specifically designed for teens.  Teen volunteers are supervised by our adult mentors, many of whom are professional educators also volunteering their time.  Teens are given progressively increasing amounts of responsibility to develop their leadership and organizational skills.  The teens have an open forum for any ideas that may help SmarterMe®, including suggestions to improve the program, raise funds, and spread awareness. For volunteer information please contact Lucie Nguyen at lnguyen@nextgenerationfocus.org or text 770-905-5849.

College Application Essay Assistance
College Application Essay Assistance provides college applicants help with their college application essays. NGF will not write it for them, but we will proofread and provide feedback.

FOCUS Aid provides financial assistance to students so they may participate in school related enrichment activities.  Enrichment activities include school-sponsored academic, sports, music, and arts programs as well as class field trips.  NGF partners with schools to identify eligible students. These students are nominated by schools’ social workers, counselors, and teachers.

As part of Focus Aid, we encourage participating parents and children to engage in volunteer activities.  In the past, we sent care packages to soldiers in Iraq, we played Wii Sports with the energetic seniors at the senior center, sang songs for the wonderful residents of the nursing center, and collected teddy bears for the Georgia Division of Family and Children Services (DFCS) and local fire departments.
